Our Story
The Leo Club of Gothami Balika was established in 2019, under the guidance and sponsorship of Leo District 306C2 of Lions Clubs International. The club was initiated by Leo Tharun Sankalana with the aim of empowering young girls to develop leadership qualities through community service and teamwork.
The formation of the club was a remarkable step in the school's journey, as it introduced students to the international Leo movement — a youth program of Lions Clubs International dedicated to fostering Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity among young people. Since its establishment, the Leo Club of Gothami Balika has successfully carried out numerous service projects in the fields of education, health, environmental protection, and women empowerment. The members have continuously demonstrated the true Leo spirit through leadership, creativity, and teamwork, earning several recognitions at district and school levels.
Currently, the Leo Club of Gothami Balika proudly functions under Leo District 306 D7, which is one of the twelve Leo Districts that together form Leo Multiple District 306 Sri Lanka. Being part of this larger Leo family provides members with opportunities to collaborate, learn, and share experiences with fellow Leos across the island. Over the years, the club has flourished into one of the most active and inspiring girls' Leo clubs within the district, building a strong foundation for future leaders who serve their communities with pride and compassion. Today, the Leo Club of Gothami Balika continues to uphold the Leo motto "Leadership, Experience, Opportunity" while guiding young Leos to lead with purpose and make a meaningful difference in society.
